Bio

Born on Chesapeake Bay, raised in Tidewater, Virginia and the St. John's River region of central Florida, lifelong outdoorsman and artist Paul Dudley Bishop built his first boat at age twelve. He recalls with some amusement tying off to the roots of a sixty-foot cypress tree and climing into its heights to investigate a massive nest of breeding ospreys. Predictably, the ospreys made him unwelcome, but he escaped unscathed and undeterred. Returning to the safety to the river's quiet surface, he watched the red sun sinking behind what seemed an Amazon-like forest, with the twists and turns of St. John's winding off to the north.
